A Retreat in Merom Golan for Bereaved Families – A Journey of Healing and Connection
To offer a moment of breath and hope for families of children who lost a parent on October 7 and during the Swords of Iron war, we organized a special retreat in Merom Golan for 23 families.
Throughout the retreat, both parents and children took part in a variety of meaningful activities:
a boutique chocolate workshop at De Karina, a wine workshop at “Bazelet” Winery for the surviving parents, a natural skincare workshop, horseback riding through the wild landscapes of the Golan Heights, a magical lantern tour in Odem Forest with Gigi and Michal, joyful evening gatherings, and bonding workshops.
The shared meals and the calm, welcoming atmosphere created a sense of home for the participants, allowing them to pause, connect with one another, and create new positive memories together.
Beyond the enjoyment and relaxation, the retreat was part of a deeper healing process – an opportunity to strengthen connections within a community of peers and to feel understood, supported, and not alone.
