Dreaming Again – A Dream Trip to Miami for Former Hostages

As part of the ”Shavim Lachaim” project, we brought 150 survivors of captivity, together with their family members, on an unforgettable journey to Miami, Florida.

They landed in Miami to a warm welcome at Café Noir restaurant, and from there began a week filled with extraordinary experiences. They visited major theme parks including SeaWorld, Universal Studios, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Epic, and each day ended with an exciting celebration.

Shabbat was spent together with a shared Shabbat dinner at the hotel. Our Adi shared that one of the most moving moments came when Elkana Bohbot, who had returned from captivity less than a month earlier, stood up to recite the Birkat HaGomel blessing – a powerful and emotional moment that reminded everyone of the deep meaning behind this gathering.

The families received gift cards and enjoyed shopping, drove Formula cars on a racing track, sailed on yachts, celebrated at a pool and barbecue party, and even held a young talents evening.

The delegation was accompanied by Dr. Itai Pessach, Director at Sheba Medical Center, along with a security team, a kitchen crew and pastry chef who prepared meals and desserts, and of course the dedicated volunteers of the association who made sure every moment was joyful and unforgettable.
