The Love That Defeated the Darkness – Survivors of Captivity Renew Their Vows

When Elkana Bohbot and Ohad Ben Ami were kidnapped to Gaza, the terrorists took their wedding rings.

During the moving ”Shavim Lachaim” journey to Miami, we decided to help restore what was taken from them. We not only purchased new wedding rings, but also organized an emotional vow-renewal ceremony.

Elkana and Rivka, Ohad and Raz – two couples who endured the unimaginable – stood side by side and renewed their vows of love, as tears of emotion filled the eyes of those present.

Avraham Atar, CEO of the organization, initiated the writing of a new ketubah for Ohad and Raz, replacing the one that was burned on October 7.

Yosef Haim Ohana served as the best man during the ceremony.

One particularly moving moment came when Elkana, Ohad, and Yosef recited the Birkat HaGomel prayer together.

It was a great privilege for us to produce this event, to share in their emotion, and to be part of their victory.
